Technical Details of the ANKERPLEX® DROP Anchor
ANKERPLEX®DROP consists of a patented “mechanical interlocking” of three flat plate pieces. It is free of welds, screws, or bends, which solves long-term critical issues such as structural stress, abrasion, galvanic corrosion, cracking, and embrittlement. It is a solid, ultra-resistant block.
The balance of shapes and mass in the ANKERPLEX® DROP ensures total effectiveness regarding positioning, seabed penetration speed, gripping capacity, and relocation during trajectory changes. The absence of moving parts eliminates any possibility of jamming during use or damage during handling. Its design is conceived to be the strongest element in the mooring system.
Technical features
SELF–LAUNCHING: The shapes and weight distribution of the Ankerplex anchor allow for free-fall from the bow roller or hawse pipe without intervention, simply by releasing the chain from the windlass.
The manufacturing process involves no welding or bending, ensuring its characteristics remain unchanged for life.
Upon request, ANKERPLEX® DROP can be manufactured in other materials, such as bronze, aluminum, brass, or nylon. It is also scalable to large formats for industrial use, aquaculture, and prospecting. Contact us for your specific needs.
ANKERPLEX® is manufactured using advanced high-precision robotic systems. The entire production and quality are inspected unit-by-unit by expert personnel.
For ANKERPLEX®, achieving this level of simplicity was not easy. After numerous prototypes, extensive field tests, and destructive testing by independent laboratories, we reached the perfect combination of dimensions, geometry, and mass to create the ideal mooring equipment. A variation of just a few degrees in an angle or a slight change in a component’s length can mean the difference between success and failure.
Like the Original ANKERPLEX® model, the Drop version offers all the advantages related to ease of manufacturing and assembly in minimal time. It also excels in transport, logistics, and storage due to its minimal footprint when unassembled, resulting in a lower environmental impact.
